Dr. Wani

Dr. Wani (aka TRIP Boss) is a recurring antagonist in the Frogger series. He is the leader of T.R.I.P. (Tyrannical Reptiles in Power) and a member of the Wani tribe. His goal is to take over Firefly Swamp as its rightful ruler and make everyone his subordinates. He's also a cousin to Dr. D, the villain from Frogger Beyond.

Frogger: Ancient Shadow Bio[]

The bad guy in this story. Dr. Wani is Frogger's constant nemesis and Frogger must chase him across several realms in order to finally bring the evil Dr. to his knees.

Appearance[]

Dr. Wani is a large green alligator with a yellow belly. He is distinguished by his navy blue jacket with a red hood and linings, a gold chain, a white ascot with a ruby in the center, red cuffs, and a gray and red cape. His teeth and claws are white.

Personality[]

Dr. Wani is extremely intelligent and mischievous when compared to the other crocs throughout the games. He's very sophisticated, thanks to his higher intellect, able to invent machines such as the Mind-control Helmet and other inventions. Dr. Wani has shown to be narcissistic, due to his bragging about his classic and royal style while Frogger has none. He is also very showy and dramatic when he speaks about his plans, even sounding immature at times. However, he is more than willing to use violence if it will get him what he wants.

In spite of his intellect and apathy, he is prone to losing his temper when his plans don't come to fruition. When one of his subordinates, Ronin, reported that Frogger (and Berry depending on the route the player takes in Frogger: Helmet Chaos) have demolished the helmet factory and Crocodite Mine, Dr. Wani was quick to scold him and threatened to kick him off his cheerleading squad if he doesn't defeat Frogger himself.

Frogger's Adventures: The Rescue[]

T.R.I.P. Boss, whose identity is unknown, make the first appearance in the game and is the main antagonist. T.R.I.P. kidnaps Frogger's girlfriend, Lily while he was in Forgotten Island. In Puzzling Pyramid, he appears before Frogger, carrying an unconscious Lily. He threatens her life to goad Frogger into turning in a magical carving that Lumpy had given him earlier. The T.R.I.P.'s boss reaction to his failure to use the Ultimate Weapon is not seen.

Frogger: Helmet Chaos[]

Dr. Wani (aka TRIP Boss) make his second appearance in the game telling his assistant, Ronin, to command all the crocs to implant the mind control helmets on the residents of Firefly Swamp, the Hooiedoo Jungle, and the surrounding regions. He succeeded in placing the creatures under his whim until Frogger came into the frontline, freed some of the victims, and destroyed the factory that manufactured the helmets in addition to the Crocodite Mine. After Frogger infiltrated his fortress and thwarted his escape attempt when cornered, Dr. Wani's plan to control the residents came to naught.

Frogger: Ancient Shadow[]

Dr. Wani make the third appearance in the game, tries, once again, to conquer the world. This time by stealing the amulet of Mastery from its guardian and the Amulet of Destruction. He plans to used the amulets to take over the world.

Dr. Wani (addressed as Doc Croc in the game's tutorial) got ahold of a birthday party invitation addressed to Frogger and used a marker to change his route to the location from a straight path to a curved one to ensure that his arrival is delayed. In contrast to his previous appearances, he is not plotting world domination.
